Drier and milder than recently for many, but plenty of cloud

Higher pressure is building through this week, but don't get too excited. The high is likely to be bringing drier weather for many of us for several days, but there is likely to be a fair amount of cloud cover too. Some areas stays mixed with northern Scotland especially so. A slip back to more unsettled weather later in the forecast.

Tuesday 7/5/24
Higher pressure builds to the west on Tuesday. A better day for many with sunny spells. It should be dry for most although a few showers are likely to be forming in western Wales, western England and western Scotland. Temperatures around 12C in northern Scotland, 19C in southern England.


 

Wednesday 8/5/24
The area of high pressure is over the country on Wednesday. A dry day for most, although there may be some cloud around. Sunny spells and generally dry, just a low risk of a shower over high ground. Some drizzle may affect northwest Scotland as a weak front passes by. Highs at 14 to 17C.


 

Thursday 9/5/24
Pressure stays high on Thursday, centred over the south of the country. This brings fair conditions with broken cloud. Thicker cloud and outbreaks of rai in central and northern Scotland, some heavy. Tops at 14 to 18C.



 
 
 

Friday 10/5/24
Fronts affecting Scotland again on Friday giving rain here. Cloud and a few showers in Ireland. There is a risk of cloud and outbreaks of rain for northern England too. Southern areas of England and Wales staying dry. Highs at 14 to 20C.



 
 
 

Saturday 11/5/24
A front over eastern areas on Saturday may bring cloud and some spots of rain here. Some cloud to in Ireland, a few showers in the west. Fair in Wales and southwest England. Temperatures at 13C in the east, 19C in the west.

Sunday 12/5/24
Rain affecting Ireland and western parts of the UK today. Eastern and southern areas are likely to be drier. A warm day in the east and south at 21C, but just 15C in Ireland.
