Cool northerly winds influence the British Isles. A small frontal system circulates over eastern England during the day, gradually moving away into Europe, but brings a cold and wet day for East Anglia. Areas of showery rain affect southern England, improving into afternoon to give brighter spells. Drier for Wales, southwest England and much of Ireland, often dry with sunny spells. Showery conditions affect northern England and Scotland, snow on the mountain tops. Highs 10 to 16C.

Showers fading inland but into the night continue to affect windward north-facing coasts of Scotland, north Wales and locally eastern England. Broken cloud for central and southern England. Fresh northerly winds continue, feeling chilly. Low temperatures falling to 5 to 8C, some sheltered rural valleys dropping colder, risk of slight frost forming in Scottish Highlands and mid-Wales.

North to northwesterly breezes maintain a cool feel. Sunny spells and a scattering of showers are likely. Most showers near to north-facing coasts in the morning, focused on northern Scotland and Wales. By middle of the day into afternoon, showers mainly inland, mostly brief. Locally across the East Midlands and Home Counties showers could become more frequent late afternoon into evening, briefly heavy. Mostly dry for southwestern Britain and much of Ireland. Highs 11 to 17C.

Low pressure toward the northeast and a ridge of high pressure to the southwest. Sunny spells and a scattering of showers, these forming mostly into the afternoon across eastern counties of England, local heavy bursts. Showery too in north and eastern Scotland, drier toward southwest Scotland. Mostly dry for the Midlands, west and southwest England, Wales and much of Ireland, good spells of sunshine and broken cloud. Fairly light winds. Highs 13 to 19C, warmest southern England.
